Assists with employee retention efforts, internal communication, employee appreciation programs, health and wellbeing programs, training sessions, event management, employee discipline documentation, unemployment claims and other processes related to employee relations. Supports the Employee Relations Coordinator in managing the districts employee assistance program. Assists the Employee Relations Coordinator in managing the districts stay interview and exit interview processes. Enters employee transactions including leaves and other status changes into the districts HR Information System. Prepares notifications for mailing. Validates and ensures accuracy of data entry of personnel information. Assists with and participates in training relevant to employee retention, support, and discipline. Assists with the preparation of annual staff recognition events. Provides initial support for supervisors entering progressive discipline and employee performance improvement plans. Completes unemployment claim information. Monitors claims, schedules and participates in unemployment hearings. Provides support as needed with medical leave/workers compensation processes. Performs record keeping and clerical functions (e.g. word processing, typing, utilizing excel, copying, faxing, data inputting, transmitting, telephoning, filing, taking messages, responding to written and verbal inquires, etc.) to support the needs of the department. Files information in current electronic personnel files; ensures personnel records are up-to-date and maintained confidentially. Ensures compliance with district, local, state, and federal employment policies, procedures, and guidelines. Serves as back-up for the leave management associate and district office receptionist. Performs other duties as may be assigned. JOB SPECIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate Degree (preferred); High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus two years human resources or related experience or training required. Must have the ability to coordinate activities in multi-location environment and the ability to work accurately in an efficient and timely manner. Experience in customer service is strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
